CAMELOT

Written by Lynette Vantreese

1ST VERSE
I searched for beauty
In paintings and in poetry
Through music and the mountains
Its sweetness swept over me

It did not satisfy
It only flowed through me
Now why was I surprised
After all, it was only beauty
And that's when . . .

CHORUS
Camelot came crumbling down
And ivory towers tumbled into a heap on the ground
All my fortresses fell without a sound
When Camelot came crumbling down

2ND VERSE
So I looked for true love
And I thought that I had found it
I said "This is all I need"
And I built my world around it

He could not save my soul
Shining armor's just an illusion
I had to let him go
After all, he was only human
And once again . . .

CHORUS

BRIDGE
It's just like chasing rainbows
Once you grasp them in your hand
You discover what you desire
Still lies beyond in distant lands

3RD VERSE
I'm calling out for a Savior
Send all the King's horses and men
I'm tired of building castles
That wash away in the sand

Love and beauty are reflections
Of His kingdom farther on
Only He can bring contentment
After all, He's only God
And even when . . .

CHORUS
Camelot comes crumbling down
And those ivory towers tumble into a heap on the ground
I know my Lord will still be around
Even when Camelot comes crumbling down
