"It's just another way of saying / you think we're going nowhere," songstress Lynette Vantreese sings on her pop-rock-power number, "Another Way." Nothing could be further from the truth when you look at her career, because ever since this sultry, svelte guitarist showcased her slightly soulful, slightly rawk act on the Nashville night scene, she's been a hit. "I believe / a better day will come / I believe / in the strength of love." That about sums up her music. She riffs off of the old power ballads we remember from the glam days of the '80s, yet she's able to update that passion, squeezing out all the fluff. All that's left is a sound that's real.
