Nashville pop-rocker Lynette Vantreese heads south this weekend for a Saturday show at The Metro Grill, 553 Brookwood Village in Homewood. Cover is $5 for her 10 p.m. performance.

Vantreese, a South Dakota native and graduate of Berklee College of Music, has opened for Edwin McCain and sold out the Bluebird Cafe, a small venue known for discriminating patrons.

Her close musical collaborator is her husband, guitarist and producer Brett Vantreese. The two worked on her self-titled debut disc on the ATC Records label. It includes the songs "Emerald Girl," "Postcards from a Dead Man," "Peterborough Street" and "I Dance Alone."
