A MAN'S MARK: A SOUTH DAKOTAN'S LEGACY In memory of Dean Asheim
Critically acclaimed for her story telling lyrics, singer/ songwriter Lynette Vantreese applies her talent to the book "A Man’s Mark." Lynette Vantreese and her family were in a car accident that took the life of her father when she was nine and her brother was five. Lynette Vantreese wrote "A Man’s Mark" for her younger brother to share her memories of their father, while describing her experiences growing up in rural South Dakota in the 1970s. Painting with a broader stroke, she weaves local and family history into her story as well.
"A Man’s Mark" rekindles memories of family, love, and warmth as seen through the eyes of a child, but with the thoughtful reflections of an adult.
